Bevis PTA Happenings….Green Hoodie Re-Order

Welcome back from the Thanksgiving break.

Due to overwhelming requests from faculty and families, the new green hoodies can be re-ordered up to this Friday (12/5)! If you are interested, you can send with the form that came home before Thanksgiving, download the form online OR directly order online. The manufacturer does not have youth smalls in stock. Friday is the last day they can be ordered, so don’t miss out!

In other news:

a) Join the Bevis chorus along with Stowers and FishHawk Creek for the Tri-School Winter Concert on Tuesday evening (12/2) at 6p at Park Square. Support the businesses and enjoy a festive evening for the family!

b) The County Reflections Reception will be held on Saturday, 12/6, at 1p at the Dale Mabry campus of HCC.

c) Save the date for the next spirit night at Little Greek Restaurant (Valrico) on Wednesday, 12/10.

Don’t miss out on the following activities:

– Family Movie Night, featuring The Polar Express. Plan to attend this free fun family event at Bevis on the covered court on Friday, 11/14, at 7:30p (movie start time). Families may arrive starting at 7:00p.m. Please bring blankets, chairs and flashlights. All students in attendance must have adult supervision. Popcorn, water and hot chocolate will be sold for $.50 each.

– Clothing Drive. The PTA is collecting gently-used clothing for schools in need next week (11/17-21) in the MPR. Feel free to drop off items that your child has outgrown to help those in need. Special boxes will be available for collection.

– PTA Spirit Night. Our next restaurant night will be at Tokyo Steakhouse on Wednesday, 11/19.

– Tri-School Winter Concert. Join the choruses from Bevis, FishHawk Creek and Stowers Elementary schools for our third annual performance on Tuesday, 12/2, from 6-7p at Park Square.

– PTA Donation Drive Update:  Thank you to the families that have donated thus far to the Donation Drive! We are at $20,839 from 202 families, 6 matching gifts and 9 businesses (95% of our $22,000 goal!). Let’s keep going….We are just $1,200 away from our goal. If you have not yet donated, please consider a donation today. Donate online or via the neon green (or gold) donation form sent home. Every donation benefits all the children at our school. THANK YOU, Bevis community, for your generous support!

– LAST CALL for….Bevis Uniforms through Friday, 10/24:  This is the only time to order the new kelly green Bevis pullover and blue zippered hoodie.  Samples are available in the front office. This is the one-time hoodie order for the year. Order online or via the pink uniform pre-order form.

– Family Movie Night on the Lawn: Friday, 11/14, with 7:00p arrival/7:30p start time on the Bevis covered court.

– Bevis Spirit Night: Wednesday, 11/19, at Tokyo Steakhouse.

PTA Donation Drive

The PTA Donation Drive is well-underway and we can’t reach our goal of $22,000 without your help. To date, we have raised $15,828 and still have a way to go! Our funds provide Bevis students, faculty and the school with educational enhancements throughout the year. Refer to the green flyer sent home this week for a partial list of programs and services provided by the PTA through the generous funding from our families and community partners.  Consider donating today online or via the PTA donation drive form. Thank you!

 

Uniform Pre-Orders Open; New Bevis Hoodie Introduced

The uniform pre-orders with hoodies are taking place today through Friday, October 24. This is the only time that we will offer hoodies – a navy blue zippered hoodie and introducing a new kelly green pullover hoodie in both youth and adult sizes. Don’t miss out on this uniform order! Pre-Order forms were sent home today and online orders are being accepted as well. Visit the PTA Booth available on conference night, Thursday, October 16, from 2p-8p in the courtyard or in the front office to see uniform samples firsthand. Stop by for PTA memberships, donation drive info, lost/found and more. Even visit the Book Fair in the media center until 7:30p.

Be a part of the Adventure at Bevis…..

– Attend the PTA Safety Fair Tomorrow – Friday, 10/10, from 5:30-7:30p at no cost to our families! Join exhibitors on safety/fitness, ride your bike, get a complimentary tune-up/helmet check, dance to the DJ, food booths for purchase and a special appearance by Thunderbug, the Lightning mascot! – Contribute to the PTA Donation Drive. We are still collecting…THANK YOU to the 174 families, 5 matching donation companies and 3 businesses that have contributed.  As of 10/9/14, we have $15,578 in donations toward our $22,000 goal (71% of goal). – Box Tops Collection Ends Tomorrow for our Bevis Box Top Climbers! If you don’t have a fully completed collection sheet, send them in a Ziploc bag with your child’s AND his/her teacher’s name on the bag. No need to glue or tape Bonus Box Tops to the collection sheet, as those are sent in separately.  Top grade-level classroom winners and prize-winners of our drawing to be announced next week.

– PTA Spirit Night at FishHawk Pizza. Join Bevis faculty servers at this ever-popular spirit night on Wednesday, 10/15!

– Introducing a New Bevis Pullover Hoodie. The uniform pre-orders for fall/winter will occur from 10/13 – 10/24. This  one-time a year hoodie order includes a NEW kelly green pullover! Look for information coming home with your child.

PTA Donation Drive Underway

THANK YOU to the 167 families, two businesses (Law Office of Ricky Martinez, P.A. and Rich’s Backyard Birds) and four matching gifts (Bank of America, Capital One, GTE Cares, J.P. Morgan), who have contributed so far to the annual PTA Donation Drive. Click here for the list of donors. To date, we received $14,928 in donations toward our $22,000 goal (68%). If you haven’t contributed yet, there’s still time through our website or return the PTA Donation Drive form. Business sponsorship has just begun. Fall Box Top Contest Begins

Our Fall Contest starts today! Extra collection sheets are in the front office to the right (or you can find it here on our PTA website).   Please collect any BONUS size Box Tops in a separate bag or envelope that can be turned in with your collection sheet.  Be sure to check expiration dates and include your student’s name and teacher!

Please like our facebook page at Colleen Bevis Elementary PTA if you haven’t already.  All students who enter at least 25 Box Tops on a collection sheet (also including BONUS size Box Tops), will have their name entered into a drawing for one of 10 gift card prizes. The more sheets you turn in, the more times your child’s name will be entered into the drawing. We have 10 gift cards to Art Monkey Art & Ice Cream, Walmart, Target and Books A Million. Also, the class in each grade who turns in the most Box Tops will win a class treat.
