Don’t miss out on the following activities:

– Family Movie Night, featuring The Polar Express. Plan to attend this free fun family event at Bevis on the covered court on Friday, 11/14, at 7:30p (movie start time). Families may arrive starting at 7:00p.m. Please bring blankets, chairs and flashlights. All students in attendance must have adult supervision. Popcorn, water and hot chocolate will be sold for $.50 each.

– Clothing Drive. The PTA is collecting gently-used clothing for schools in need next week (11/17-21) in the MPR. Feel free to drop off items that your child has outgrown to help those in need. Special boxes will be available for collection.

– PTA Spirit Night. Our next restaurant night will be at Tokyo Steakhouse on Wednesday, 11/19.

– Tri-School Winter Concert. Join the choruses from Bevis, FishHawk Creek and Stowers Elementary schools for our third annual performance on Tuesday, 12/2, from 6-7p at Park Square.

The PTA Donation Drive is well-underway and we can’t reach our goal of $22,000 without your help. To date, we have raised $15,828 and still have a way to go! Our funds provide Bevis students, faculty and the school with educational enhancements throughout the year. Refer to the green flyer sent home this week for a partial list of programs and services provided by the PTA through the generous funding from our families and community partners.  Consider donating today online or via the PTA donation drive form. – Attend the PTA Safety Fair Tomorrow – Friday, 10/10, from 5:30-7:30p at no cost to our families! Join exhibitors on safety/fitness, ride your bike, get a complimentary tune-up/helmet check, dance to the DJ, food booths for purchase and a special appearance by Thunderbug, the Lightning mascot! – Contribute to the PTA Donation Drive. We are still collecting…THANK YOU to the 174 families, 5 matching donation companies and 3 businesses that have contributed.  As of 10/9/14, we have $15,578 in donations toward our $22,000 goal (71% of goal). – Box Tops Collection Ends Tomorrow for our Bevis Box Top Climbers! If you don’t have a fully completed collection sheet, send them in a Ziploc bag with your child’s AND his/her teacher’s name on the bag. No need to glue or tape Bonus Box Tops to the collection sheet, as those are sent in separately.  Top grade-level classroom winners and prize-winners of our drawing to be announced next week.

– PTA Spirit Night at FishHawk Pizza. Join Bevis faculty servers at this ever-popular spirit night on Wednesday, 10/15!

– Introducing a New Bevis Pullover Hoodie. The uniform pre-orders for fall/winter will occur from 10/13 – 10/24. This  one-time a year hoodie order includes a NEW kelly green pullover! Look for information coming home with your child.

Reaching out to our Bevis families to join the spirit of the new school year …

– Consider contributing to our annual PTA Donation Drive. To date the drive has raised $11,820 toward our goal of $22,000. This one-time only drive funds important PTA services and activities that benefit EVERY student and the entire school throughout the year.

– Join the PTA. Enjoy many national and state benefits along with receiving a special Bevis spirit car magnet (or bike tag for students) for just $6.00 per membership. To date, 618 parents, students, faculty, grandparents and businesses have joined!

– Attend our PTA General Membership Meeting. Come to our fall PTA General Membership Meeting on Monday, 9/22, at 8:05 a.m. in the MPR to hear about what’s going on and how you can make a difference.

– Be a Volunteer. Your participation in and out of the classroom contributes greatly to our students, faculty and school. Join the team of Bevis volunteers who generously share their talents and time. We’ll make it work for you!

As your summer begins, a few dates and reminders:

– Uniform Pre-orders may be placed through Friday, June 20, for pick-up at Open House. Order online or via the pink Uniform Pre-Order form (available in the front office or downloaded online). Samples are available in the front office to help with sizing. NEW: XS sizes in dry fit and spirit shirts!

– School Tool Box Pre-orders may be placed through Friday, July 11, on www.schooltoolbox.com with delivery direct to your home prior to Open House.

– Collect Box Tops over the summer and add up the $$. Last year, over $4,500 was collected!

– The 2014-15 PTA Reflections theme is ‘The world would be a better place if...’  Students may begin their work this summer in one of four categories: music composition, literature, photography and visual arts.
